Theodore Roosevelt Island

September 17, 2012

One of the best things about DC is that there are so many places you can go to escape the city for a few hours on a beautiful day. I always forget about Theodore Roosevelt Island, a hidden yet not-so-hidden island in the middle of the Potomac River. Two miles of footpaths, plus the walk to and from the island along trails and across bridges weaving back and forth from Virginia to DC, makes exploring Roosevelt Island a fun fall morning activity.
