Tim Hortons

Tim Hortons Tuscan chicken panini

“You have to go to Tim Hortons.” “Did you go to Tim Hortons?” “So, what did you think of Tim Hortons?” Whenever it came up in conversation that anyone in any room anywhere had been to our great northern neighbor, Tim Hortons (and Mounties) was the first thing across every Canadian’s lips. Canada’s version of Dunkin’ Donuts — coffee, doughnuts, sweets and sandwiches on the go — is everywhere. Each one-stoplight town we passed during a Buffalo-Ontario road trip to Goderich had a T-Ho’s if nothing else.

During 48 hours in Canada, we stopped at Tim Hortons five or six times, finding fresh coffee, awesome cookies, cheap sandwiches, clean bathrooms and ridiculously friendly people:

(No, there’s no apostrophe in the name. And no, we never saw a Mountie.)

I’ve never heard of them! But it looks and sounds great!

They have a couple locations in Penn Station, too, and I’m always sure to grab a doughnut. So good!
