Thankful Thursday

March 22, 2012

Every time I visit New York City for work, two things are true: I work too much and I eat really poorly. Spending time in NYC just isn’t as much fun when the biggest part of your day is spent in a fluorescent office building.

But I always enjoy going up to New York for a few days, seeing coworkers and friends, and exploring fun new-to-me places to eat in the East Village. Discoveries on this trip: bite, Paradis, Silver Spoon and B Bar.

As always, Think Coffee was my morning go-to. Great coffee, yummy bagels and surprisingly good oatmeal (for $5+ for a bowl of oatmeal, it’d better be good!).

So many people around the world want to visit NYC — I’m thankful it’s just a 3-hour train ride away. There’s always something to do, someone to see, something to eat… but I’m always glad to come home to DC, too.

No time to rest — heading to Chicago for the weekend. See you from the city of deep dish pizza, Second City and crazy weather.

Every time I go to NYC I leave wanting to A) go back ASAP and B) move there!
