Weekend Wrap-Up

March 5, 2012

There are three ingredients for a successful book club: delicious food and wine, partipants who have actually read the book and want to discuss it, and choosing a good book. Thankfully, the DC Bloggers Book Club has all three ingredients and then some.

Next month’s read: The Poisonwood Bible, which I haven’t read since high school.

Besides book club, it was the perfect lazy weekend for spring cleaning and long walks.

It was a weekend to daydream about taking future vacations…

but to actually go nowhere.

And it was the first weekend when we seemed to be right on the cusp of spring — flowers and birds and longer days and all.

How did you spend your weekend? Were you more productive than I?

I was thinking the same thing, that spring really seems to be right around the corner now (not that we had much of a winter, but still…) 🙂

I’m so upset I had to miss this weekend 😦 Stupid work! I’m super excited the next one is the Poisonwood Bible (just found out by reading this post!) I have read it before but since I’m going to the Congo this summer — and that’s where the book takes place — it will be amazing to read it again. Can’t wait till next month. I have a few pages left of “The Forgotten Garden.” Can’t wait to put all the pieces together!
