Thankful Thursday

December 8, 2011

Christmas parties.

Christmas concerts.

Christmas cookies.

Christmas teas.

Christmas decorations.

Christmas shopping.

Christmas music.

Christmas lights.

‘Tis the season and I’m ready!

The way I see it, you only (ha, ‘only’!) have a month to enjoy the Christmas season before January 1 hits and you’re forced to tear down the decorations and stare at an undecorated house for the next 11 months. So make the most of it while you can!

There are so many fun Christmas activities on the calendar for this month, including our annual family tea (see last year’s), a Christmas concert at the Kennedy Center (another family tradition), a couple of latkes-and-Christmas-cookie parties and a Secret Santa gift swap with my college friends.

So tell me: what’s your favorite thing about the holiday season?

Or, alternatively, you can celebrate Epiphany, the 12th day of Christmas, drawing it out until the 6th. And, if you’re really dedicated, Orthodox Christmas is on the 7th. In fact, pretty sure I’m going to throw an Old New Year party (Jan 14), according to the Orthodox calendar… So… you’ve got possibilities!

Ooh I LOVE the lights, curling up on the sofa with hot chocolate, and watching my favorite Christmas movies!
