Thankful Thursday

September 22, 2011

Pumpkin butter, pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin pancakes, pumpkin bread, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin oatmeal — fall is here! Sure, it’s going to be 80* today but the rain and grey skies are definitely signs that autumn is pushing summer out. It was a great summer but there’s nothing better than crunchy, colorful leaves underfoot, scarf weather, the smell of woodsmoke in the air — yep, I’m thankful fall is on the way.

What else am I thankful for this week?

  • Friends from around the world coming to Washington — I had dinner with a new German friend last night and a Canadian friend (whom I know from Korea) is in town this weekend. It’s a small world after all!
  • Planning December travel — suggestions for a week-ish getaway, preferably somewhere warm?
  • Homemade ice cream
  • Cozy new sweaters
  • Gchat — what did people do at work before Gchat?!
  • Maryland football game this weekend with college friends — I’ve reached the age where I actually want to watch football (just to socialize, but still…)
  • Having tonight free to catch up on the premieres of Glee and Modern Family 😉

What are you thankful for this week?

I’m not allowed to use gchat at work. It’s not blocked, but I work in the same room as my boss who can see my screen. Boo. I still do it when she’s not looking. Shh…

Yay for homemade ice cream. Sounds like you need to make pumpkin flavored ice cream 🙂
Also, I’ve never heard of pumpkin butter but it sounds medium fabulous. I need to hunt some down!
