December Challenge

I had plans for a great post about my December goals — why wait until January 1 to make resolutions? — but Comcast apparently isn’t working this morning. Second time in a week, I’d like to point out. So… iPhone it is!

I really appreciate everyone who gave me ideas for goals and challenges. This is definitely the time of year when little checks are needed just to make sure I stay on-track and out of the never empty pie plate. 😉

December Challenge (aka: ‘making a list and checking it twice’):
• Exercise 5 days a week. Isn’t that why I joined a gym? No more being ‘too tired’ after work. If I can’t gather the strength to go after work, I’ll have to go before.
• Only homemade treats. The stuff from the box or grocery store can’t compare to sweets baked from scratch so why even waste my time?
• Cooking. This is a big one. It’s time to stop throwing together what’s easy — after one too many pumpkin chocolate chip cookies last night, I put together a plate of hummus, tortilla chips and veggies for dinner — and get back into the kitchen to make real dinners.

What are your goals or challenges for the last month of 2010?

    Great plan! Especially the homemade treats only vow. Nothing’s better than homemade treats…unless they’re made by someone who really can’t bake.

    I remember Michael Pollan has that same rule– eat all of the “junk food” you want, as long as YOU make it!

      It’s a great rule — I remember him mentioning that’s how he still enjoys french fries.

    Homemade treats is a great idea! I should do that too, I would definitely eat less treats 😀 I’m just REALLY bad at keeping any resolutions, New Year’s or others so I usually do not make any officially 😀

      I’ve never kept New Year’s resolutions. Usually they are broken by the 1st week. 😉

    I find that in order to make myself workout at night, I have to go straight after work. If I wait and come home first, like now, I won’t go.

    Green Papaya is good. Enjoy!
